Avoid desire, fear, excessive pain and pleasure, and anger

We must keep ourselves free from every disturbing emotion, not only from desire and fear, but also from excessive pain and pleasure, and from anger, so that we may enjoy that calm of soul and freedom from care which bring both moral stability and dignity of character. Marcus Tullius Cicero. De Officiis. Book 1. Section 69.

His name derives from the Ancient Greek words "menos" (might) and "oitos" (doom), meaning "doomed might". Based on the descriptions of various resources, he may have been the Titan of violent anger, rash action, and human mortality, often committing hubris because of his excessive pride. During the Titanomachy, Zeus killed Menoetius with a flash of lightning and banished him to Tartarus.
